To all my loyal customers who have been with me from day one. My first store was “Tyrone’s Food Market” a grocery store located on Bentalou Street. I was known as “The Biggest Subs in town”. I then opened two grocery stores on North Avenue and one on Washington Blvd. Soon after I opened the first “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken” in Old Town Mall in 1991. The next three “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken” locations were two on Harford Road and one on Collington Street. The last 4 locations to open were Park Circle, Pratt Street, Ayrdale Ave. and East 25th Street.

When I opened “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken” in 1991 most of these carry out restaurants today were not open. I invented the name “Chicken Box”. The original Chicken Box consisted of 4 pieces of chicken. You could order all wings or mixed chicken with fries a dinner roll and a free 12 oz. soda. The only thing at carry out restaurants at that time was 3 wings and fries.

I invented the 100 pieces of chicken and 100 pieces of fish. Back then when you walked into a carry out restaurant and looked at their menu board the most you could purchase at that time was a 20 pc. bucket of chicken. You might could ask for more chicken but it was not on their menu board. I started the 12, 25, 50, 75 and 100 pieces of chicken that were mixed or all wings. And also the 12, 25, 50, 75 and 100 pieces of fish. A lot of restaurants have copied and benefitted from my ideas. 

After retiring in 2022, I was informed through social media that imposters were misrepresenting my business “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken”. Imposters were also using my store name and colors to further likes on their page. Imposters are also implying they are Tyrone. This is not true! These pictures were stolen and not authorized by anyone from Tyrone’s Fried Chicken. Other than this official site there are no other websites representing the original “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken”.

“Tyrone’s Fried Chicken” name, logo and colors are trademarked by the State of Maryland. My mistake was not patenting the name “Chicken Box” or the multiple pieces of chicken and fish on the menu board.

This disclaimer states that “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken” is the rightful owner of the content displayed on this page. It discourages unauthorized use of copying or distributing pictures or images of any kind. 

All of “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken” restaurants are now closed. There will be no more original “Tyrone’s Fried Chicken” restaurants opening now or in the future in Baltimore City or elsewhere. 

I want to thank Baltimore for all their love and support throughout the years. Because of your continued support I was able to open 25 locations throughout Baltimore City along with 8 “Tyrone Fried Chicken” vehicles to better serve you. Your unwavering support has been very instrumental to my success.
